Record Store Day 2016 16 Aprile 2016, Mondo

Anche quest'anno sono quasi trecento le pubblicazioni ufficiali dell'industria italiana del disco per oggi, 16 Aprile 2016, per il Record Store Day, iniziativa nata in America otto anni fa a supporto dei negozi dischi indipendenti con anteprime, ristampe ed edizioni speciali. 

Tra le novità internazionali si segnalano 'Melancholy Mood' di Bob Dylan (foto a destra), un 45 giri con quattro tracce che precede l'uscita di un nuovo album, nei negozi a maggio, 'Foregrow' di John Frusciante, progetto sperimentale dell'ex chitarrista dei Red Hot Chili Peppers ispirato dalle colonne sonore di John Carpenter, 'Ghetto Walkin' di Miles Davis con Robert Glasper e Bilal (foto sotto a sinistra), estratto dall'album in uscita a maggio; 'A Season On The Line' del cantautore Glen Hansard, il rocker irlandese che piace anche a Springsteen e l'album di remix di 'El Pintor' degli Interpol. 

Due le uscite dedicate a David Bowie, nei negozi con il picture disc di 'The Man Who Sold The World' e 'TVC15', singolo di "Station To Station" che festeggia il quarantennale, come '"Too Old To Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die!" dei Jethro Tull. Stessa ricorrenza anche per il movimento punk e la nascita dei Clash, con la Joe Strummer Estate in festa per 'Gangsterville', singolo che anticipa l'uscita di un'antologia e stampato con un artwork inedito, creato dallo stesso Strummer insieme a Josh Cheuse. 'Moseley Shoals' degli Ocean Colour Scene sarà disponibile adesso in vinile e di 'Antichrist Superstar' di Marilyn Manson esisterà invece una versione speciale in cassetta.

Facendosi largo tra i classici spunta 'Hoochie Coochie Man - Live At the Rising Sun Celebrity Jazz Club' di Muddy Waters, 'The Best of The Johnny Cash Show' di Johnny Cash, una raccolta di performance televisive leggendarie con artisti del calibro di Ray Charles, Carl Perkins, Derek and the Dominos e Roy Orbison, tra gli altri. 'Complete Columbia: Live at Missouri University 4/25/93' dei Big Star è il live della reunion della band power pop, di cui circolavano copie solo in bootleg, mentre 'In Hollywood,1971' di Ravi Shankar nasce da una registrazione di un concerto privato, adesso rimasterizzato e diventato seminale per la progettazione del 'Concert For Bangladesh' di George Harrison.

E ancora, il doppio 'B-Side & Rarities' dei Deftones, ''Demos 1994-1998' di Alanis Morissette, dalle session del fortunato 'Jagged Little Pill', 'Not A World' dei Low con Sean Carey, batterista di Bon Iver. Jason Molina si cimenta con il repertorio di Townes Van Zandt, Mac DeMarco presenta 'Another One Demos' e il picture disc dei Bring Me The Horizon contiene un live esclusivo da Maida Vale. Si ristampano album dei Field Music, Langhorne Slim, Lydia Lunch & Marc Hurtado, Orb, The Fall, Go! Team e tantissimi altri. C'è persino un disco per i fan dell'avvincente libro 'Mr. Nice', con la voce baritonale dell'ex trafficante internazionale di hashish Howard Marks che recita Dylan Thomas in 'Do Not Go Gentle', un 10" in vinile verde prodotto da Tim Burgess.

Tra gli italiani, Pino Daniele torna nei negozi con due 45 giri, 'Ca Calore', di cui si celebra il quarantennale, e 'Napule è'. Stesso formato per 'Nenè' di Francesco Guccini, uno strumentale creato per l'omonimo film di Salvatore Samperi; dal Premio Oscar Ennio Morricone arriva invece un vinile trasparente di 'Paura' e Piero Umiliani flirta con il jazz nella colonna sonora de 'La Legge dei Gangsters' (foto a destra). I Goblin pubblicano il 45 giri viola di 'Suspiria' e l'album 'La Via della Droga', in vinile bianco. Lo stesso colore della limited edition dell'ultimo lavoro di Nada 'L'Amore devi seguirlo'; è verde la limited edition di 'Nerissimo' di Teho Teardo e Blixa Bargeld, mentre l'artwork di 'Perfect Laughter' della band acid rock Sycamore Age, adesso disponibile anche in cd, è stato dipinto a mano, una copia diversa dall'altra. 

Sono pura disco newyorchese 'Like A Virgin & Other Hits' di Madonna, con i remix di Jellybean Benitez, dj resident dello Studio 54, il triplo 'Pop Your Funk' dei Loose Joints di Arthur Baker su etichetta West End Records, la label 'di famiglia' del Paradise Garage e il doppio 'Genius of Time' di Larry Levan. Decisamente più contemporanei il remix balearico di Fatboy Slim di 'Trouble Understanding' dei Charlatans e 'Switching Sides' di Roots Manuva, un nuovo ep prodotto insieme ai Coldcut, Crookers e Toddla T. 

Per gli appassionati di sonorità afroamericane 'Live At Philadelphia 1975' di Allen Toussaint, personalità di spicco di New Orleans e scomparso alla fine dello scorso anno, 'The Roulette Sides' di John Coltrane, per la prima volta disponibile in 10", la 'My Funny Valentine' portata al successo da Chet Baker interpretata con il David Braid Quartet da Ethan Hawke, dalla colonna sonora del biopic 'Born to Be Blue' sul leggendario jazzista. 

Per gli integralisti dei boxset 'Vinyl Complete Albums Box' dei Monkees, 'The Island 45's 1973-1976' di Bryan Ferry, Incredible Bongo Band, Skatalites e 'New Orleans Funk - The Original Sound of Funk'. Chicche assolute, infine, i 45 giri di 'Come Back, Baby/Getting Tougher' di Bluesology, produzione degli Anni '60 dietro cui si celava Elton John e 'She Just Satisfies/Keep Moving' di Jimmy Page, debutto solista precedente alla fase Yardbirds. 

Anche quest'anno Radio Capital è la radio italiana ufficiale del Record Store Day ed oggi rende omaggio a tutti i negozi di dischi indipendenti con una programmazione interamente dedicata all'iniziativa.
